Four Men Charged After Gardaí Seize €8.5m Worth of Cannabis in Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin have seized 429 kilograms (946 pounds) of cannabis, valued at an estimated €8.5 million (£7.1 million), following a targeted operation in the Ballymount area of Tallaght. The seizure resulted in the arrest of four men, who now face serious charges relating to drug trafficking and criminal organisation activities.

Planned Search and Arrests

The operation unfolded on Friday, with gardaí intercepting two vehicles as part of a coordinated search at business premises in Ballymount. The significant haul of cannabis was discovered during the search, leading to the immediate arrests of four suspects.

Assistant Commissioner Justin Kelly highlighted the importance of this operation in disrupting global drug trafficking networks operating in Ireland. He reiterated that the gardaí remain committed to making Ireland a hostile environment for organised crime.
