One address, read by people
Every message to TIMES OF CANNABIS goes to a single inbox: support@timesofcannabis.com. It is read by members of the editorial team, not by an autoresponder that files things into the void. We keep one address on purpose. A small newsroom with seven departmental inboxes answers none of them well; a small newsroom with one inbox can promise that a human sees everything.
To help the right person see your message quickly, put one of the following words at the start of your subject line.
Subject lines that route your message
- CORRECTION: You believe something we published is wrong. Include the link to the story, the specific sentence or figure you are disputing, and, if you have it, the document or source that shows the error. Corrections are our fastest queue; the process is described in our corrections policy.
- TIP: You have information about the cannabis industry, a regulator, a company, or a policy development. Tell us what you know, how you know it, and whether we may follow up. We do not reveal sources; our confidentiality practice is set out in our editorial standards.
- PRESS: Announcements and press releases from companies and organizations. We read them as leads, not as copy. A release is the beginning of our reporting, never the end of it, as our fact-checking policy explains.
- ADVERTISING: Inquiries about placements, sponsorships, or partnerships. Read Advertise With Us first; it lists what we accept and what we refuse, and it will save both of us time.
- PRIVACY: Requests concerning your personal data under our privacy policy, including access and deletion requests.
- COPYRIGHT: Formal notices under our DMCA and copyright policy, including takedown and counter notices.
- GENERAL: Anything else, including feedback on coverage and suggestions for stories or desks we should add.
What we can and cannot answer
We are a news publication, and some questions are outside what a news publication may responsibly answer.
- We cannot tell you whether cannabis is legal for you, in your situation, in your jurisdiction. Laws vary enormously and change often. Consult the law itself or a qualified legal professional.
- We cannot advise on medical use, dosing, interactions with medication, or whether cannabis is appropriate for any condition. Those questions belong with a licensed medical professional who knows your history.
- We cannot tell you where to buy cannabis, recommend sellers, or forward messages to companies we cover. This site reports on the industry; it does not participate in it.
- We do not provide investment advice about cannabis companies, however often we are asked.
Response times
Correction reports are reviewed as soon as they are read, usually within one business day. Tips receive a reply when we are able to act on them; if you do not hear back, the silence is about capacity, not about the value of what you sent. Press and advertising messages are answered within a few business days. Privacy and copyright requests are handled within the timeframes stated in the policies that govern them.
A note on what you send us
Email is not a confidential channel by default. If your message is sensitive, say so before sending details, and we will discuss safer arrangements. Anything you submit for publication, such as a letter or comment on our coverage, may be edited for length and clarity, and we will tell you before we publish your name.
